“ First, I am *dumbfounded* that Jade had two stars when I looked to check their hours: that is totally *undeserved*! As a connoisseur of fine Chinese Buffets in Missouri, I am going to rebut this injustice! TLDR: Good bang for the buck, good, consistent food, at a slightly higher than expected, but still reasonable price point. Price: Just a touch high, which is why they get four, not five, stars. Price for two, with a low [$5.00/person] tip generally runs under $50.00. I say "generally" because their price varies: on "Restaurant holidays" (Mother's day, Father's day, Turkey day, etc.) they put out more expensive items (like ribs, higher quality sushi, etc.), raising the tab. We go quite often, and their price point is usually spot on, but sometimes they're a little higher than called for. Considering that just *one person* can easily eat more than $50 worth of food because of the outrageous inflation we're suffering through (thanks Joe - I thought Carter was bad, but you showed him!), I would have liked to have the ability to give Jade a half start for the 5th, but I can't - they DO deserve it though! Their food is an interesting combination of what you expect from a Chinese Buffet: assorted frozen-to-deepfry items like spring rolls, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, toasted ravioli, etc., and surprises like basic sushi (salmon rolls, veg rolls, etc), baby back ribs, and fresh fruits in quantity (in addition to the standard canned fruits like pears, pineapples, etc). The selection is always good, with the fresh fruits (melons, grapes, others, being outstanding. The physical setting is in a convenient place: Farmington - a location which is central for the extremely rural areas in this part of Missouri. We live in a spot that has only one commercial site within our entire township, so Potosi and Farmington are our only under-twenty minute locations. The restaurant is kept very clean, even on very busy days that have lines [Father's day had a line, and the buffet was pandemonium, but it was also kept freshly supplied and very clean throughout: very impressive!]. The "ambiance" is what you expect: a pretty even mix of booth and tables, set around the buffet on three sides. The floor layout allows for good traffic control getting to and from the buffet, so you never end up with wait times trying to get food, even on the busiest days. My all time favorite Chinese buffet was in Saint Louis city, but didn't survive the first modern depression of 2008 (we'll miss them - they were a family owned and operated place that we went to for decades, and I hope they landed on their feet in the end). The next was in Saint Louis county by DePaul Hospital, and since we moved out into the sticks (what a relief!), Jade is our go-to place for routine eating out days. Hopefully they will outlast us, as there isn't anything comparable within a 50 mile radius. ”

“ First impressions upon entrance was that the restaurant was very clean and brilliantly lit, compared to the dark ambience of other Chinese buffets. The food was really good; foods were at good temps as well. The variety was also splendid. Lastly, our service was good with quick refills and staff monitoring the buffet to replenish low or empty dishes. Really confused by the poor reviews from several years ago, our visit while in town in February 2024 was great! ”
